District 3 Make Big Arrests on Traffic Stops

Dec. 4 - Two traffic stops made by District 3 officers this week have lead to big arrests.

Officers Eric Rom and Ryan Dewitt stopped a car in the 1900 block of N. 39th Street on Monday, December 1. As the officers approached the car the passenger pulled a handgun from under the seat. Officer Rom was able to disarm the 26-year-old Milwaukee man. The suspect was arrested for possession of marijuana and multiple weapon offenses, including being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. The officers also confiscated more than $12,000 suspected as being proceeds of drug dealing.
 
Officers Lyndsey Peters and Nathan Neibauer stopped a car in the 2200 block of W. North Avenue on Wednesday, December 3. The officers arrested a 27-year-old Milwaukee man for possession of marijuana and weapons offenses, including being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. The officer’s investigation lead them to a residence where additional marijuana was found, as well as more than $13,000 in cash that is suspected as being proceeds of drug dealing.
