Residents now have a beautiful new roadway to take them shopping at the growing Midtown Center. The reconstruction of W. Capitol Dr. from N. 35th St. to N. 60th St. is a $4.6 million state project that brought decorative brick crosswalks, new lighting, new sidewalks and many other much needed infrastructure upgrades to locations along W. Capitol Dr.
The construction project was delayed one year and that allowed Midtown businesses such as Applebee's, IHOP, Lowe's, Pizza Hut, Pick 'n Save and other retail stores to establish a steady customer base. "I thank all residents for their patience during the construction, and encourage them to patronize Midtown and its surrounding businesses," said Ald. Wade.
W. Capitol Dr. from N. 60th St. to N. 80th St. is the next section of this major street to see a reconstruction. So stay tuned!
