The Milwaukee Police Department respects the right of all citizens to celebrate in a safe, peaceful, and responsible manner. Though we respect the right to celebrate, it is the responsibility of your Police Department to ensure that those celebrating do so in a manner, which is respectful of the rights of others and respectful of the laws and ordinances in the City of Milwaukee. In fulfilling our responsibility to you, the citizens we serve, it is our hope that you enjoy each and every cause for celebration, and do so in accordance with the law.

1. When in a motor vehicle, all traffic laws must be obeyed. Vehicles may not loiter nor interfere with the orderly flow of traffic and may not parade unless a proper permit has been obtained. Unauthorized parading of vehicles that violate traffic laws or affect the flow of traffic will be immediately dispersed.

2. Those who celebrate from motor vehicles must continue to wear their seat belts and may not extend any part of their bodies outside of the vehicles, as this may endanger their safety of others. The driver of any motor vehicle is responsible for the safety of all of his or her passengers.

3. Normally, the use of vehicle horns when celebrating is prohibited, as such excessive noise affects the right of our non-celebrating citizens to enjoy a peaceful neighborhood. This also includes any unnecessary use of a loudspeaker, radio or stereo tape/CD player in a manner in which excessive noise is created.

4. The Milwaukee Police Department and its members respect the flags of all sovereign nations. However, the waving of flags in such a manner that might endanger the safety of the person waving the flag or others who may be near is discouraged. FLAGS SHOULD REMAIN UPRIGHT TO AVOID ENDANGERING OTHERS. NO FLAG OR ANY OTHER LOAD CAN EXTEND BEYOND, FENDER LINE OF A VEHICLE EXCEPT AS PROVIDED BY LAW. NO PERSON MAY DRIVE A VEHICLE WITH ANY OBJECT, INCLUDING A FLAG, THAT OBSTRUCTS THE DRIVER'S VIEW OR INTERFERES WITH THE CONTROL OF THE OPERATING MECHANISMS OF THE VEHICLE.

5. ANY POSSESSION OR USE OF FIREWORKS IS AGAINST THE LAW, AS IS PUBLIC CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ON PUBLIC STREETS AND SIDEWALKS AND PARTICULARLY IN MOTOR VEHICLES.

6. In the interest of our walking citizens, crossing street in the crosswalks is strongly encouraged. It is illegal to interfere with traffic when crossing the street outside of a crosswalk. This is for their safety as crossing in the middle of the block endangers pedestrians as well as motorists.

By abiding in these rules, and obeying all the laws and ordinances, the quality of life of our celebrating citizens as well as other citizens will be assured. Departamento De Policia De La Ciudad De Milwaukee Boletin Informativo

El Departamento de Policia de Milwaukee respeta los derechos de todos los ciudadanos a festejar de una manera segura, pacifica y responsable.  Aunque respetamos el derecho de festejar,es la responsabilidad de este departamento de policia asegurar que aquellos que festejan, lo hagan de una manera respetuosa de los derechos de los otros ciudadanos y respeten las leyes y ordenanzas en la Ciudad de Milwaukee. Para satisfacer nuestra responsabilidad hacia ustedes y los ciudadanos que servimos, es nuestra esperanza que se pueda gozar de toda manera de acuerdo con la ley.

1. En un vehiculo de motor, todas las leyes de trafico deben ser obedecidas.  Los vehiculos no pueden vagar o interferir con el trafico y no pueden desfilar a menos que se haya obtenido un permiso apropiado.  En el desfile los vehiculos que violen las leyes de trafico o afecten el flujo del trafico seran dispersados inmediateamente.

2. Aquellos que celebren en los vehiculos deben continuar usando sus cinturones de seguridad y no pueden extender ninguna parte de sus cuerpos fuera de los vehiculos, porque esto pone en peligro su seguridad asi como la seguridad de otros.  La persona que este manejando cualquier vehiculo de motor es responsable de la seguridad de todos sus pasajeros.

3. Normalmente el uso de las vocinas excesivas del vehiculo se prohibe durante la celebracion, porque tal ruido es excesivo y afecta los derechos de nuestros ciudadanos que no esten celebrando. Esto tambien incluye cualquier uso inecesario de un altavoz, de una radio o de un equipo de sonido estereo de tape/CD en una manera tal que el ruido sea excesivo.

4. El Departamento de Policia de Milwaukee y sus miembros respetan las banderas de todas las naciones soberanas. Sin embargo, el movimento de banderas de tal manera en la que se ponga en peligro la seguridad de la persona que la este ondeando o de otras que puedan estar cerca de la bandera no se permite.  LAS BANDERAS DEBEN SEGUIR SIENDO PORTADAS VERTICALMENTE PARA EVITAR PONER EN PELIGRO A OTRAS PERSONAS.  NINGUNA BANDERA U OBJECTO PUEDE EXTENDERSE MAS ALLA DE LA LINEA DEL PARACHOQUES DE UN VEHICULO.  NINGUNA PERSONA PUEDE CONDUCIR UN VEHICULO CON CUALQUIER OBJETO, INCLUYENDO UNA BANDERA, QUE OSBTRUYA O INTERFIERA CON EL CONTROL DEL VEHICULO.

5. CUALQUIER POSESION O USO DE FUEGOS ARTIFICIALES ES CONTRA LA LEY AL IGUAL QUE EL CONSUMO PUBLICO DE BEBIDAS ALCOHOLICAS EN LAS CALLES, ACERAS PUBLICAS Y VEHICULOS DE MOTOR.
  

6. Por el interes de nuestros ciudadanos peatones, solamente se permite y se recomienda cruzar las calles en los pasos designados para peatones en las intersecciones. Es ilegal interferir con el trafico al cruzar la calle fuera de los pasos designados para peatones en las intersecciones.  Esto es para su seguridad porque al cruzar por el centro de la cuadra se pone en peligro a los peatones asi como a los automovilistas
