Milwaukee Police Department Office of Media and Communications Feb. 8 - The outstanding work of several Milwaukee Police Officers, dispatchers, and units will be recognized at the Exchange Club of Milwaukee’s 61st Annual Crime Prevention Awards Luncheon to be held at noon on Tuesday, February 9 at the Wisconsin Club, 900 W. Wisconsin Avenue.
Cramer-Krasselt advertising agency will also be recognized for their outstanding media contribution toward crime prevention. Chief Edward A. Flynn nominated Cramer-Krasselt for this award after the agency completed a million-dollar branding campaign for the Milwaukee Police Department at no cost.
“We approached several advertising agencies about the possibility of a pro bono campaign to help raise awareness about the positive work being done by MPD and to encourage residents to be a force in their own neighborhoods,” Chief Flynn said when nominating Cramer-Krasselt for the award. “Some turned us down. Cramer-Krasselt never missed a beat. They agreed immediately.”
Police Officers Franklyn Gayle, Roberto Hill, Claude Osburn and Troy Potter will receive awards for Outstanding School Resource Officer for the work they are doing at Milwaukee’s Pulaski and Bradley Tech High Schools and Officer LaTunya Meredeth will receive an award for Outstanding Community Liaison Officer. Auxiliary officers, businesses, and volunteers will also be recognized for their work in crime prevention.
Police Officers Chad Boyack and Nathan Fager, Police Dispatcher Tiffany Ramskugler and the entire Milwaukee Police Cold Case Unit will receive awards for Outstanding Professional Contributions and five Milwaukee Police officers recently wounded in the line of duty will be recognized for their service and sacrifices.
The Exchange Club of Milwaukee is one of the area’s oldest service clubs and has had a long-standing interest in crime prevention efforts.
Media are encouraged to cover this event, which will also feature the Milwaukee Police Department Color Guard and the Milwaukee Police Department Band.
