March 15 - As Milwaukee prepares to host the NCAA basketball tournament on March 19 and 21, MPD is warning consumers about the hazards of buying game tickets from unconventional sources.

Scam artists tend to prey on consumers during high-profile events, often times trying to sell fake or counterfeit tickets to fans for quick cash. By the time the purchaser finds out the tickets are fake the seller is long gone with the money.

MPD recommends only buying tickets from the event site or a trusted source. Buying tickets on the secondary market from a reputable ticket broker offers the piece of mind of having someone to go back to if there is a problem with the tickets. Don’t be fooled by what looks like a good deal.
