A Temporary Food Dealer License is required to sell food, such as raw fruits and vegetables, eggs, poultry, breads, herbs, beverages, restaurant foods, etc., at any of the farmers' markets in the City of Milwaukee.
Your Temporary Food Dealer license affords you the option of selling at any of the various markets. However, if you operate at more than one market on the same day during the same time frame, you will need a permit for each additional market. Operators selling only fresh produce may operate more than one booth at the same market without needing additional licenses unless the stands are not adjacent to each other, in which case, each stand needs its own license.
All prepared food (e.g., spice blends, caramel apples, jellies, jams, etc.) must be prepared in a licensed premise and must be properly packaged and labeled. Homemade foods, such as home-canned vegetables, may not be sold at any of the markets. Potentially hazardous food, such as eggs or poultry, needs to be maintained at 41° F or less at all times. More information on the sale of meat and poultry is available from the State of Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection publication: Direct Marketing Meat and Poultry.

Both the original Food Dealer License and the original Weighing and Measuring Device License must be displayed at your stand at all times that you are selling. Photocopies are not accepted.
