Mayor Barrett to Meet with Two Intergovernmental Entities in an Effort to Facilitate Regional Cooperation

MILWAUKEE, WI—Making good on his campaign promise to work regionally and cooperatively with other counties and government entities, today Mayor Tom Barrett will attend the Intergovernmental Cooperative Council (ICC) of Milwaukee County meeting, in the Village of Hales Corners, at the Boerner Botanical Gardens, at 2 p.m.

The ICC is expected to hear a presentation by the Metropolitan Milwaukee Sewerage District.

Following that meeting, the Mayor will also attend the Southeastern Municipal Executives (SEME) meeting at 3:30 p.m., at the same location. SEME is comprised of elected officials in Milwaukee, Washington, Waukesha and Ozaukee counties. Mayor Barrett will serve on the steering committee of SEME.

During today's meeting legislators have been invited to give their perspective on the Taxpayer Bill of Rights (TABOR). Mayor Barrett is expected to kick the meeting off by discussing the importance of regional cooperation.
